We appreciate your patience with us (and the kids and each other!) as we transition from two services to three. We now have less time with the kids, so we created a new class schedule to help you with the “flow.” Each service is designed to last for 65 minutes, so a typical day in JourneyLand should look like this:
TODDLERS AND TWOS
10 minutes- free play (1 on 1 curriculum activities can be done at this time)
25-30 minutes-Clubhouse
10 minutes-curriculum activities, coloring sheets
15 minutes –snacks and diaper changes
THREES THROUGH FIVES
10 minutes-snack *please note we moved this up to make time for curriculum
35 minutes-Clubhouse and bathroom
20 minutes-curriculum activities and Make It Real (focus on Bible story)
Any remaining time should be spent on packing up kids’ belongings and cleaning the room.
We would also like to stress how important it is that you arrive on time. First service volunteers should arrive by 7:30. Rooms need to be set up and ready for children who arrive at 8. Second service volunteers should arrive by 9:30 so we can have a transition room for children arriving for this service, and also to relieve workers from first service so they can get to church on time. Third service volunteers should arrive by 11 for the same reasons. For our third service volunteers, we ask that you would stay until all of your kids have been picked up, and that you return all sanitized toys/supplies/etc into your big boxes. Tables (and diaper changing pads) should be sanitized as well. Trash should be thrown in the big trash can.
If you attend the service before you serve, we ask that you sit somewhere so you can leave after the prayer and before the announcements/final song(s).
A final suggestion: If things aren’t “flowing” like they should, it’s ok! Keep in mind that the #1 priority in JourneyLand is the health and safety of the children in our care. After that, we want the kids to know that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
