The Church That Rocks

Sunday’s message was an extension to the What Might Jesus Say series as Steve shared where he sees TrueNorth heading.  Some of the things discussed were the upcoming One Prayer series that begins this coming Sunday, the search for land for a building and increasing the amount of Journey Teams for people to do life together.  All of these things fall under the mission of TrueNorth, which is to transform spiritual seekers into passionate followers of Christ.

The important thing to remember about being in God’s will is that he will be with us.  As the staff and leaders are seeking God’s direction, it is reminiscent of the the book of Joshua.  Chapter 1 verse 5 says, No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live.  For I will be with you as I was with Moses.  I will not fail you or abandon you. It’s when we continue to seek God’s vision that He continues to lead us on His path.

It may be difficult to follow God when you can’t see where He’s going, but as Joshua 1 continues, we find out his prescription is to be strong and courageous (v. 6-9).  To do this, we need to be careful to obey all His words.

At TrueNorth, our motto is to “lift up, love in and live out.”  When we lift up, we are pointing people to Jesus.  Loving in is learning to love others by committing to authentic relationships with other Christ followers.  To live out is to utilize our vocations, gifts and global impact in the Kingdom.  From inviting others to church to joining a J-Team to going on a mission trip, there are places to do these things at TrueNorth Church.

Jesus is going to change the world through us, but we must go and obey (Joshua 1:16-18).  This doesn’t equate on us agreeing on everything we do, but that we’re all at a concensus with the mission of the church.  That’s what makes impact happen!

Who is God to you? Join us for One Prayer 2009, a global movement where we’re living out what we’re learning about our never-ending God.  Beginning this Sunday at TrueNorth Church.  See you there!
